While “The Eagle” spacecraft was soaring toward the moon 39 years ago, back on Earth the bald eagle itself was becoming virtually extinct in the lower 48 states. Today, the eagle is back! The national symbol has been restored in such numbers it has been removed from the endangered species list. Here’s a look at the success of the reintroduction program of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and a feature on the state’s resident bald eagle who just celebrated his 20th birthday last month.
