Get your own copy of the Cooperative Calendar of Student Art 2009
The 2009 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art, showcasing the award-winning works of Indiana students from kindergarten through high school, is now available at participating electric cooperatives around Indiana and from Electric Consumer.
The calendar is the culmination of the student art contest held in the spring of 2008. The winning works for the 2009 calendar were featured in the May 2008 issue and are posted below.
Three REMCs — Fulton County REMC, Rochester; Kankakee Valley REMC, Wanatah; and Newton County REMC, Kentland — will be delivering calendars to each of their consumers either bagged with the October 2008 issue of Electric Consumer, or by other means. They also will have a limited supply of calendars at their offices.
The following 22 co-ops will have complimentary copies at their offices (some supplies are limited):

Copies are also available by mail from Electric Consumer by sending a check, payable to Indiana Statewide Association of RECs, for $5.50 per calendar (this includes shipping, handling and Indiana sales tax) to:

Winning works appearing in the 2009 calendar
Here are the winners of the Student Art Contest held in March 2008. These works appear in the Cooperative Calendar of Student Art 2009, published by Electric Consumer and participating Indiana electric cooperatives and now available.

Along with the 13 first place winners, nine honorable mention winners were selected at large from works that vied for first place in their respective grade divisions. The works of these nine students will appear in a special section in the back of the 2009 cooperative calendar:

First
place winners in grades k-8 receive $150; grades 9-12 receive $200. The
artist of the year, Kenny Martin, receives an additional $100. Winning works will
represent the month listed in the 2009 Cooperative Calendar of Student Art, available in October 2008 at participating REMCs and RECs around Indiana.
Honorable
mention winners receive $50 and will have their work published in a
special 4-page section in the back of the calendar.
Some 400 “Award of Merit” certificates will also be presented to students whose work made the final cut in judging.
